Telluride AIDS Benefit (TAB) is seeking a visionary and dynamic Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth, impact, and creative evolution. Now in its fourth decade, TAB is a highly visible and community-powered nonprofit with a dual mission: to raise awareness and funds to fight HIV prevention, education and sexual wellness and to foster creative expression through fashion, performance, and education.

The Executive Director (ED) is the organization’s chief executive, responsible for strategic leadership, fundraising, financial stewardship, program oversight, and external relations. The ED must bring a unique blend of creative vision, operational acumen, and community-minded leadership — and be ready to lead a small but powerful organization that collaborates well with board, beneficiaries, staff, volunteers and community stakeholders. 

TAB recently expanded its local footprint with a permanent home office and is evolving its funding model to strengthen internal programs while continuing to support HIV-focused beneficiary organizations. This is a compelling opportunity to step into a beloved organization at a time of creative reinvention and legacy preservation.

Strategic & Organizational Leadership

• Lead the implementation of TAB’s mission, vision, and evolving strategic plan.

• Oversee daily operations, staff, and program delivery with a hands-on, collaborative approach.

• Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and support effective governance.

Fundraising & Development

• Drive all major fundraising efforts including the annual fund, capital campaign, individual giving, sponsorships, and donor stewardship.

• Cultivate major donors, foundations, and business partners in Telluride and beyond.

• Ensure long-term financial sustainability through diverse revenue streams.

Program Oversight

• Support signature TAB events such as the annual Fashion Show and Student HIV Awareness Program — with a balance of creative leadership and logistical excellence.

• Oversee community engagement, local education efforts, and collaborations with beneficiary organizations.

• Champion HIV education and destigmatization, especially among youth and rural populations.

Finance & Administration

• Partner with the board and financial consultants to manage the budget, reporting, and compliance.

• Monitor financial health, manage expenditures, and align fundraising with mission priorities.

• Ensure transparency and accountability in all organizational operations.

Communications & Public Presence

• Act as the public face of TAB in the community, media, and partner networks.

• Maintain strong relationships with local schools, government agencies, beneficiaries, and creative partners.

• Advance the brand and reputation of TAB as both an arts innovator and health advocate.

• Proven leadership experience in a nonprofit, arts, or mission-driven setting.

• Strong fundraising and donor development background.

• Financial management and budgeting experience.

• Skilled in working with artists, creatives, youth, and diverse stakeholders.

• Passion for HIV advocacy, education, and social impact.

• Exceptional communication, team-building, and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of or connection to Telluride and its creative community a plus.

FT/ Year-Round / Base salary starting at 70K with (salary) growth opportunity based on experience. TAB offers a flexible work environment, a deeply supportive board, and the opportunity to lead one of the region’s most beloved and impactful organizations.
